WORDTheatreUK presents Stories, Poems and Music from the Sea at Labroke Hall, 14th May

Charitable organisation WORDTheatreUK will next week be hosting a special event at Ladbroke Hall in Notting Hill titled “Stories, Poems and Music from the Sea”. Held on Tuesday, 14th May 2024, the evening will feature ocean-themed short stories, poetry and songs read and performed by actors Harriet Walter DBE, Olivia Williams, Rhashan Stone, Damien Molony,  MyAnna Buring, Amanda Donohoe, Gethin Anthony & more, performing alongside violin virtuoso Lizzie Ball and jazz/classical pianist Dorian Ford. Some of the literary works of renowned authors A.S. Byatt, Isak Dinesen, Gabriel Garcia Marquez & Brendan Kennelly will be brought to life during this special evening.

The event is being held in support of Ocean Rising – an initiative that encourages the public to engage with the ocean through cultural initiatives and innovative events – igniting curiosity for our undersea world and cultivating a global community dedicated to the celebration and protection of our ocean.

Tickets for the evening cost £35 for general admission (£25 for patron priority) and can be purchased at https://ladbrokehall.com/live-programme/talks/from-the-sea/.

Doors open at 6pm when drinks and light nibbles will be available. Performances begin at 7pm, followed by a Q&A. The event concludes at 9pm.
