Books for Cooks Lunch, 8th February 2011, hosted by Greg & Lucy Malouf, authors of Saraban

If you fancy doing something a little different on a Tuesday lunchtime in Notting Hill, why not pop down to the Notting Hill institution Books for Cooks for a special Persian-influenced lunch hosted by Greg and Lucy Malouf, authors of the wonderful new cookbook Saraban.

From 12pm tomorrow, Greg and Lucy will be hosting the vegetarian lunch service at Books for Cooks, with 2 courses on offer for £5 per head (not including drinks). It is not possible to book in advance, so merely turn up on the day – tables will be allocated on a first come first served basis and as these events always get full, make sure you are prompt!
The lunch is part of a series of special events at a variety of wonderful venues in London in promotion of the Persian cookbook Saraban. These include a talk and dinner at La Fromagerie in Marylebone; a talk and evening demonstration in Fortnum & Mason; and a demo and tasting at the Petersham Nurseries, who recently acquired a Michelin star. There’s also a special Saraban Reception being held with the Iran Heritage Foundation at Made in Camden at the Roundhouse. Full details of all these events and how to book can be found at http://gregmalouflondontour.wordpress.com/
Saraban takes us on a journey through modern-day Persia, introducing the reader to the delights of its cuisine with recipes combining meat, fish, fruit and vegetables with exotic spices – saffron, cardamom and dried limes – plus rice and fresh herbs. Beautifully illustrated throughout with stunning colour photography, Saraban offers an insight into a culture and cuisine that have a wonderful history and tradition.
