Tuck into some amazing culinary creations at GrubClub’s events in West London!

For all you foodies out there (I know there’s many of you!), several exciting GrubClub events are taking place on our doorstep in the near future that are sure to tickle your tastebuds.

That’s all very well, you might think – but what’s a GrubClub? Well, for those that haven’t tried it out yet, Grub Clubs are experimental and social events where chefs can try out new concepts and ideas whilst diners can sample some interesting and tempting new creations. I’m sure you’ve heard of the concept of pop-up restaurants and supper clubs, which have risen in popularity in the last few years – it’s these kinds of things that GrubClub helps to promote, assisting new chefs or businesses in putting on events in under-used (but special) venues all over London.

Grub Clubs cover all sorts of cuisines and meals (there are even breakfast ones!) and take place in many venues across the city; most are (deliberately) rather small affairs, so they’re also very fun and social, and a good way of getting to know like-minded people.

So, back to matters at hand – what’s coming up in the area in the near future? On Saturday 22nd February (7.30pm to 11pm), ‘A Little Lusciousness’ is a four-course meal made from seasonal British produce, and hosted by Rosie in W3. Expect delights such as leek soup, Coq au vin and rhubarb crumble, plus cheese and coffee/herbal teas with sticky chocolate balls. (Wine is available to purchase at the venue, although you can also bring your own – a £5 corkage fee applies.) Tickets cost £30 and can be bought online.

In early April, there’s a series of ‘LQ Comes West’ events (held daily 2nd-5th and 9th-12th April) in Maida Hill Place. LA’s best-loved pop-up chef, Laurent Quenioux, follows up his sell-out November 2013 run with a new set of pop-up nights that will celebrate local and seasonal British products cooked with the chef’s signature mix of classical French training and cutting edge, world fusion techniques. You’ll be served six (six!) stunning courses (with an option for a matching wine flight), with cocktails, craft beers and soft drinks also available to purchase. The renowned cheese board will also be making an appearance – with LQ known for seeking out the best artisanal cheeses, served with signature jams, jellies and condiments, it’s a fine way to wrapping up a fantastic gastronomic evening.

A proud U.S. representative of the French Bistronomy movement, Laurent Quenioux’s current ‘Foodings’ pop-up events (see examples of menus at bistrolq.com) follow his time as part of a team that opened up legendary movie star hangout, The Regency Club, and as head of the famed 7th St Bistro. He and his team of young and passionate chefs – including sous-chef Daniel Vasquez, pastry chef Anthony Huynh, kitchen tech Christian Navarro, and cheese expert & sommelier Eric Mas – are all equally excited about the opportunity to cook and create in London in April.
