Keen drinkers amongst you will have noticed that The Union Tavern in Westbourne Park has recently reopened after a very smart spruce-up.
Set on a fantastic location right on the Grand Union Canal, this Fuller’s pub offers a lovely bar and welcoming dining area on the ground floor with an expansive garden overlooking the water. The garden has also been a key part of the transformation, with the new look outdoor space now hosting an array of seating that’s suitable for all occasions and times of year – the colourful awning will provide shelter (much needed in London!) in the colder months. Just the place for after-work drinks, al fresco dining or a leisurely, long weekend visit.
The interior space has also been refurbished to be in keeping with The Union Tavern’s leafy surroundings – what with the huge windows letting in plenty of natural light, the inside has been painted in wonderful botanical hues of green and yellow.
Come down to enjoy the menu at The Union Tavern with the usual pub classics being served up alongside small plates such as chorizo in red wine, padron peppers (one of my favourites) and chicken satay skewers, and sharing options such as chicken wings. There’s also a brunch menu that includes pancakes and waffles, and there’s the opportunity to “build your brunch” where you can add egg and some veggie extras to shakshuka and avo on toast. The menu also includes plenty of plant-based and vegetarian options.
And let’s not forget the drinks! The pub offers a selection of fresh cask ales, punchy craft beers and a range of premium wines and spirits.
I’m so excited to be reopening the doors of The Union Tavern. The pub looks incredible. I’m delighted to be opening as we go into spring – our canal-side garden is not one to miss and will be a hive of good times as we move into the warmer months. With the clocks changing recently that’s more sunshine hours to enjoy with us at The Union Tavern. My team and I look forward to welcoming you all.
