The glorious Gate Cinema on Notting Hill Gate is celebrating its 101st birthday this month (having opened in 1911 as the Electric Palace Cinema) and will be hosting a special Kids’ Club screening of 1948 film Oliver Twist on Saturday 14th April that will also celebrate the 200th birthday of Charles Dickens. Directed by David Lean, this classic film features Alec Guiness as Fagin, in his second major role.
Tickets cost £1 for Kids’ Club members, or £3 for non-Kids’ Club members. However, by producing either a library card or a receipt from Waterstones, a free ticket can be claimed! Sorry adults – you must be accompanied by a child to attend the screening!
The film starts at 10.30am (sharp!), and the Gate Cinema will also he hosting free kids’ activities from 10am.
