Calling all artists – a chance to exhibit at this year’s Notting Hill Mayfest!

The annual Notting Hill Mayfest, now in its ninth year, is to be held from 14th May to 2nd June 2011, once again delighting visitors with its exciting mix of music and art, as well as the main Mayfair event. Each year, the festival brings together people of all ages, faiths and ethnicities, allowing them to display their creative talents, as well as promoting emerging talent.

This year, the Mayfest is inviting artists that work in 2D, 3D, photography and installation to exhibit in the St John’s Church gallery space during the festival. Submissions are very welcome whether you’re a professional artist or studying art, or are even merely an amateur artist.
This is a great opportunity for artists from the local area (or from elsewhere in London) to exhibit their work to the local community audience and beyond. The Mayfest is to be marketed widely, and its very packed programme of events in St John’s Church means high visitor numbers are expected.
There will be a submission fee of £10 per artwork, and any sales are to be the responsibility of the exhibitor. (No commission will be taken by Mayfest.)
To submit a proposal, send:
  • A good quality JPEG of your work (with titles, dimensions and prices)
  • A link to your website (if applicable) and your contact details
  • A short statement about your practice and why you would like to be involved in this year’s exhibition
Please email mayfest.coordinator@gmail.com with the above details, or post them to Mayfest Co-Ordinator, St Johns Church, Landsdowne Crescent, Notting Hill, London W11 2NN.
Deadline for submissions is Friday, 8th April 2011. Please do also contact the Mayfest Co-Ordinators (Marie-Pascale, Michael & Lois) with any queries, ideas or if you would like to see the exhibition space.
