The next Addison Singers Classical Choirs concert will take place on Saturday, 8th July at St Peter’s Church, W4. Titled Serenade to Summer<\/strong>, this feast of music will reflect on the summer season both in the town and country.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Chamber Choir\u00a0will present two short choral cycles both of which reflect on the rose and its wider symbolism. Concertgoers can look forward to hearing the ravishing harmonies in\u00a0Mealor\u2019s\u00a0Now Sleeps the Crimson Petal<\/em> and the radiant\u00a0Les Chansons des Roses<\/em>\u00a0by Morten Lauridsen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Oratorio Choir\u00a0will present a wide-ranging tour of pastoral and urban scenes in\u00a0Bob Chilcott\u2019s\u00a0Songs and Cries of London Town<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Cecilia McDowall\u2019s\u00a0light-hearted\u00a0A Fancy of Folksongs<\/em>. They shall also perform\u00a0Vaughan Williams’s\u00a0famous\u00a0Serenade to Music<\/em>\u00a0which will feature soloists from within the choir and showcase their rich tutti choral sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew Hough will perform\u00a0Chopin\u2019s\u00a0Nocturne in C minor\u00a0<\/em>(Op. 48, No. 1) and\u00a0Poulenc\u2019s\u00a0Nocturne (No. 4 Bal fant\u00f4me)<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One or two other surprises may pop up in the programme as well!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
