You may have read on this blog about artist IMPREINT’s Balloons exhibition at Arancina on Pembridge Road, which is currently exhibiting until 7th January 2014. A few weeks ago, in the run up to Christmas, the artist himself gave a talk at the same venue on his latest project – Portraits – which was launched that same day.
Portraits will run for a full year and is a project in which anyone and everyone can participate! All you have to do is submit a photograph of yourself holding a balloon, and you can do this either via the main IMPREINT site at www.impreint.com or on the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/IMPREINTofficial.
The project was kickstarted in December when the artist took to the streets of Notting Hill to photography passers-by holding balloons. This successful launch saw over 100 people take part in only a few hours – and you can see some of the happy participants in the lovely collage image shown below. (Click on the image to see a larger version.)
That same evening, as part of his talk, IMPREINT printed off and signed some of the images for the subjects to collect. (Those who couldn’t return saw their photos displayed in Arancina.)
Do make sure to participate in this lovely, happy project – we’re sure you have a balloon or two kicking around to celebrate the new year! Once again, make sure to submit your photographs to either www.impreint.com or www.facebook.com/IMPREINTofficial. Happy snapping!
